Other contained nutrients include vitamin B complex, amino acids, carbohydrate, protein, tryptophan, dietary fiber and lysine. With the rich content of nutrients, star fruit offers effective herbal medication to heal coughs, fever, diabetes, sore throat, mouth sores and cholesterol. You are not only able to take the advantages of the fruit but also the flowers, leaves and even the roots. To treat an acute sore throat, you need to crush 80-100g of fresh star fruit leaves with some salt. Squeeze them to get the juice. Divide it into two or three parts to hold in the mouth and swallow it slowly. For dry coughs and loose coughs with mucus treatment, you can dry 8-12g of tar fruit flowers with ginger juice, 12g of liquorices, and 8-10g of marjoram. Boil them into 750ml of water till there is only 300ml left. Drink it twice before the meals.
