A recent study has been conducted by a director of Florida State University’s Advancing Exercise and Nutrition Research on Aging Center named BahramH.Arjmandi, Ph.D. The study proofs that apples can remove cholesterols by binding it in ferries and guts to be brought out from the body. The study was conducted in 160 women of 45 – 65 years old who were divided into two groups. One group should eat 75 grams of dried apples and another group should eat prunes. The result showed that the apple group got up to 23% decreasing of bad cholesterol and they got 3-4% increasing of good cholesterol; something that could not be attained by consuming cholesterol controlling drugs or doing some exercises.

Consuming apples to reduce cholesterols also gives more advantages for the women. During one year of the study, those who ate apples in 240 calories also got weight loss about 3 pounds. It was because the dietary fibers in apples gave more satisfaction in consuming their foods and lowered the appetite even they ate in fewer calories. Besides, unlike consuming drugs to lower cholesterol, apples do not bring bad side effects that make the liver work too hard at filtering the substances. Therefore, just eat two apples per day to have a simple and healthy way to decrease bad cholesterol in your body as well as to be healthier.
